LED has been honored to accept numerous awards
for its efforts to reposition Louisiana as the next great American
state for business investment, quality of life and economic
opportunity.
American Advertising Awards
LED earned two Gold ADDY awards and four Silver ADDY awards for
its national advertising campaign and new Web site at the 2010 New
Orleans Ad Club American Advertising Award Ceremony.
Synchronist Award
LED's Business Expansion and Retention Group received a 2009
Synchronist Award for Leading By Design due to its innovative and
progressive efforts to strengthen relationships with Louisiana's
existing companies. LED was one of three state-level economic
development organizations that received an award.
Southern Economic Development Council Communications
Awards
LED garnered three awards for its strategic marketing program at
Southern Economic Development Council's 2009 Annual Conference. LED
received the Excellent Award in the magazines and advertorials
category for EQ, Louisiana Economic
Quarterly®, as well as two Merit Awards in the publication
advertising: campaigns category for its two national print
campaigns. LED's marketing program highlights the state's economic
momentum and economic progress.
10 People Who Made A Difference
Gov. Bobby Jindal and LED Secretary Stephen Moret were named to
Southern Business and Development
magazine's "10 People Who Made A Difference" in 2008 for their
contributions to Louisiana's economy. Gov. Jindal and Moret were
noted for establishing a strong business climate and comprehensive
ethics reforms in Louisiana, while the national business climate
weakened with the recession.
Sage Community Stewardship Award
LED earned the 2008 Sage Community Stewardship Award for its
innovative use of the Sage Customer Relationship Management program
in assisting disaster recovery efforts related to hurricanes
Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike. The award recognizes an organization
that emphasizes the local, national or global community by striving
to better the lives of the people it serves.
Economic Development Finance Professional Certification
Between 2008 and 2009, seven LED employees received the Economic
Development Finance Professional certification from the National
Development Council. Certification is awarded to individuals who
successfully complete an intensive economic development training
series.
Certification was awarded to Clark Forrest, Becky Lambert,
Jeffrey Pennington, Bill Rodier, Rebecca Shirley, Randy Veillon and
Shawn Welcome.
Southern Economic Development Council Communications
Awards
LED received seven awards at the Southern Economic Development
Council's 2007 Annual Conference in Little Rock, Ark., including
Best of Class for the Laissez le Business Rouler In-State Campaign,
and Superior rankings in four other categories.
PRSA Professional Awards, New Orleans Chapter
At the PRSA's 2007 Awards Banquet, LED received a Certificate of
Excellence for its Web site, as well as Certificates of Merit for
its 2006 Annual Report and its 2006 New York Investor and News
Media Mission.
American Advertising Awards
LED was awarded an ADDY Award for its 2007 Annual Report at the
2008 Ad Club of New Orleans American Advertising Award
Ceremony.
International Economic Development Council's Excellence
in
Economic Development Awards
With overall wins in paid advertising and special events, LED
earned more awards than any of the other 80 competing organizations
at the International Economic Development Council's 2007 Annual
Conference.
