The Acadiana Economic Development Council is a nonprofit organization founded by local economic developers and incorporated in 2004. AED represents the primary economic development organizations in the Acadiana parishes of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin and Vermilion.

Acadiana Regional Development District promotes and fosters economic development through regional partnerships and cooperation among local governments, educational institutions, and state and federal agencies.
