CQMS Razer Announces New Jobs And Products At Mansfield Facility
CQMS will create more than 200 new
jobs
MANSFIELD, La. -- Gov. Bobby Jindal joined CQMS Razer General
Manager Max Voigt, Mansfield Councilman Troy Terrell, Mansfield
Councilman Sonny Hall, DeSoto Parish Police Jury President Dewayne
Mitchell and North Louisiana Economic Partnership, or NLEP,
Chairman Kyle McDonald to announce that CQMS Razer plans to expand
the capabilities and product lines at its facility in Mansfield.
CQMS Razer acquired Hendrix Manufacturing in May of this year,
retaining 84 jobs, and now the company intends to create more than
200 new, direct jobs by 2017.
"Retaining and growing businesses is a critical part of our work
to create more opportunity for our people and build a better
Louisiana for our children," said Gov. Jindal. "That's why the
expansion by CQMS is a great win for DeSoto Parish, Northwest
Louisiana and our entire state. CQMS joins a growing list of
businesses in Northwest Louisiana that are expanding and creating
jobs for our people so they can pursue their dreams right here at
home."
"Following our recent acquisition of Hendrix Manufacturing, CQMS
Razer now has the opportunity to increase its workforce and
introduce new product lines at the Mansfield facility," said Voigt.
"This gives CQMS Razer the ability to strengthen its
competitiveness and grow in the North American marketplace."
Louisiana Economic Development estimates the company's 232 new,
direct jobs will generate 426 new, indirect jobs for a total impact
of 658 new, direct and indirect jobs in the region by 2019. In
addition, LED estimates CQMS Razer's expansion will result in
approximately $11 million in new, state tax revenue and $7.4
million in new, local tax revenue during the first 10 years of
operation, excluding local property taxes and corporate income
taxes.
Following the company's expansion, it is expected to become one
of Louisiana's top 300 economic driver companies based on its
direct and indirect job impact.
CQMS Razer will provide new product lines for the facility to
manufacture, which will enhance the product offerings to Hendrix's
traditional customers.
Currently, LED Faststart™, LED's award-winning workforce
training program, is working with CQMS Razer to develop customized
workforce training solutions for the company. CQMS Razer also
intends to use the state's Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality
Jobs programs.
"Hendrix Manufacturing approached us initially to see if we
could help with any aspect of a potential acquisition by CQMS
Razer," said McDonald. "NLEP helped the two companies and key local
and state partners find a solution to keep good paying jobs in
Mansfield. Now with the expansion at the Foundry, CQMS Razer will
have an even greater impact on my hometown of Mansfield. This is
why I'm involved with NLEP and economic development -- to help
create opportunities for our friends and neighbors."
CQMS Razer and LED Faststart will provide updates on how
to pursue employment opportunities at the Mansfield facility in the
near future.
