Cameron Valves & Measurement completes $54 million expansion in Louisiana
After considering sites in other states, Cameron Valves & Measurement selected its Ville Platte, La., facility for a $54 million expansion project, creating new job opportunities and strengthening the local economy.
In March 2011, Louisiana Economic Development Corporation approved a $2 million loan to complete the expansion. A subsidiary of Cameron International Corp., Cameron Valves will also take advantage of the state's Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality Jobs programs, which provide property tax abatement and cash payroll rebates, respectively. In addition, Cameron Valves is receiving customized workforce training through LED FastStart™ -- called the nation's best state workforce training solution by Business Facilities.
The new 125,000-square-foot facility, which includes 20,000 square feet of space for future expansion, is now complete with additional equipment and production being added from April 2011 to December 2011. The expansion was first announced in 2008. The project's economic impact includes:
- 110 new jobs, $49,000 average salary
- 475 retained jobs
- $54 million capital investment
