A major expansion of Criterion Catalysts & Technologies'
Port Allen plant will get under way in 2009 with support from $1.2
million in performance-based assistance from Louisiana Economic
Development Corporation's Economic Development Award Program.
Criterion announced its move to Port Allen, La, in 2006 when the
company decided to build its new hydroprocessing catalyst
manufacturing facility.
"The decision to locate Criterion's world-class manufacturing
facilities at Port Allen has been embraced by both the state and
parish as a valuable economic development project," said Criterion
Venture Manager Bill Howell. "It is this type of support that
facilitates Criterion's vision of making Port Allen manufacturing
facilities a reality."
The expansion will allow the company to manufacture several
types of alumina powder needed for its catalysts, in addition to
catalysts themselves.
Criterion is one of the world's largest suppliers of
hydroprocessing catalysts, with more than 50 years experience
developing, manufacturing, testing, marketing and servicing alumina
catalysts.
