Overview
The Louisiana Contractors Accreditation Institute, a partnership
between Louisiana Economic Development, Louisiana Community and
Technical College System and Louisiana Small Business Development
Center Network, assists small and emerging construction
businesses.
The course may include the following topics:
- Bid processes
- Contract management
- Estimating
- Equipment and business management
- Scheduling
- Occupational safety
- Risk management
- Financial management
- Bonding/access to capital
- Certifications
- Entrepreneurship training
- Louisiana General Contractors State Licensing Exam review
Benefits
Taught by industry leaders, participants will learn about basic
construction management skills, review for the Louisiana General
Contractors State Licensing Exam and earn continuing education
course credits.
LCAI is offered each fall via distance learning sites across the
state. The course is also available online each spring and
summer.
Applicants can also apply for LED's Bonding Assistance
Program.
Eligibility
Online:
- No qualifications required to enroll.
- Accreditation requires participation in all 12 training
sessions and completion of online quizzes.
- A course fee of $150 is due at registration.
Distance Learning:
- No qualifications required to enroll.
- Accreditation requires participation in 10 of 12 classes.
- Class credit is only given to individuals who attend for the
duration of each class
- A course fee of $150 is due at registration
